What is dental practice accreditation?

Accreditation checks and ensures that a dental practice has systems and processes in place to improve the safety and quality of care for patients. The process for a dental practice to become accredited involves: 1. Self-assessment of performance against the NSQHS Standards 1 to 6 2. An independent agency reviewing the dental practice 3. The dental practice making suggested changes as part of a continuous quality improvement approach, and monitoring ongoing performance.

Do you accept new patients?

Yes we do. In fact we make sure that new patients are seen promptly...often within 48 hours as we are honoured to help others.

At what age should I bring my children?

We encourage children to attend from an early age. Being able to hear, smell and see that many new things in a modern dental practice makes the transition to their first examination all the more easy. Usually around the age of three they will be ready for their first examination. We make it fun- we take them for a ride in the chair and show them how everything works and give them stickers and toothbrushes. They may even need to sit in your lap for the first time and that’s fine. Their first dental examination is an important milestone for any child so we like to make it as fun and memorable as possible.

What happens at my first visit?

When you arrive at our practice you will be greeted by our Patient Coordinator Glennis. She will assist you with your initial registration including your medical history. Your initial examination with Dr Raj will usually involve discussions about your current concerns, recording of relevant medical and dental information, taking of digital radiographs and where necessary, digital photos. In some instances, models may also be made of your teeth. Depending on your needs, your initial examination may take up to 60 minutes

Why is Verve Dental not a preferred provider?

As we provide advanced modern dental services we feel this could not be achieved if we were under the restrictions of a preferred provider. Preferred provider dentists enter into a contractual agreement with insurance companies to set their services and fees according to what insurance companies deem profitable for them. Dr Kamal Raj has been in practice for over 22 years and has always made his clinical decisions only in collaboration with his patients and never with a 3rd party (insurance companies).
